FAQ

Every critical question deserves an open answer.

About trust, money, certification, visits, and data — honestly.

About & trust

Is DentShare a donation platform?
No. DentShare is a partnership network. Support flows within long-term, one-to-one partnerships between practices — visible, planned, and documented — rather than into an anonymous donation pool.
Is DentShare politically or religiously affiliated?
No. DentShare is strictly neutral. Neutrality will be anchored in our statutes and our Code of Conduct. Practices are selected by need and compatibility — never by any political or religious criterion.
Who funds DentShare's own operations?
Operating costs are funded separately from partnership projects — through membership contributions, institutional funders, and dedicated operating donations, disclosed annually. Project contributions are allocated to your partnership project; unavoidable third-party costs (such as payment fees) are disclosed, never hidden.

Partnerships

Who can join?
Licensed dental practices worldwide, in one of two roles: Supporting Practice or Partner Practice. Both are full members of the same network.
Can we choose our partner?
We propose a match based on clinical focus, language, goals, and compatibility — and both practices decide. No partnership starts without both sides saying yes.
How much time does a partnership take?
Honestly: a partnership is not a one-click donation. Expect regular contact with your partner practice, a few mentoring hours per month, and one annual review. The exact rhythm is defined in your partnership plan — by you.
What if a partnership fails?
Our coordinators mediate first. If a partnership ends, it is closed transparently in the register, and both practices can be re-matched. Silent fade-outs are exactly what our process is designed to prevent.

Money & tax

Does 100% of my contribution reach my partner practice?
We promise what we can keep: 100% of your project contribution is allocated to your partnership project. Unavoidable third-party costs (such as bank or payment fees) are disclosed transparently, and DentShare's own operating costs are funded separately. We will never advertise a number we cannot document.
Does my partner practice receive free money?
No — and that protects everyone. Support is project- and patient-based: agreed projects, documented use, supplier payments where possible, and cost reimbursement against records. This keeps every euro traceable and the partnership credible.
Are contributions tax-deductible?
Tax treatment depends on your country and your individual situation. DentShare's charitable status in Germany is pending confirmation; we will provide donation receipts where legally recognized. We cannot give tax advice — please consult your tax advisor.

Certification & register

How are certification levels earned?
Through duration and quality of engagement — years of documented partnership activity, knowledge exchange, and visits. Levels can never be bought.
How do I verify a certificate?
Scan the QR code on the certificate or enter its register ID in our public Partner Register. No account needed.

Visits

Can visiting dentists treat patients?
Only if licensed in the host country — and never without explicit patient consent. Observerships are structured stays for observing, learning, and exchanging techniques, not for treating.

Data & privacy

What happens to my data?
Applications and partnership records are processed under the GDPR. The public register only shows data practices have agreed to publish — no patient data, no financial details. See our Privacy Policy for specifics.
Are the images on this website real member practices?
No. All photographs on this site are illustrative images and are labelled as such. Real practices and real stories will only ever be shown with documented consent — that is a core rule of our editorial standards.
